How my Bose stereo SAVED me!

I woke up this morning in a serious funk. Like pissed off and angry funk. The funkiest funk I've had in a long while.

And trust me, you wouldn’t have wanted me to write Motivation Monday on that mindset ;0

I was comparing myself to someone I’ve never even met, having a pity party for why I’m not further ahead, and feeling literally like F-IT! I give up!

[Lead-in]

A couple years ago Candace bought me a sweet-ass car with a Bose stereo system. I know! I’m super lucky and grateful... and she’s all mine :)

I always tease how awesome it is to use it to crank up NPR every day because that’s pretty much all I listen to on my commutes. Hahaha.

[Back to the story!]

This morning I said HELL NO to NPR and I tuned into an R&B station and blasted it so damn loud! And it sounded ah-ma-zing!

I didn’t know the words to the song but it was a catchy beat and so I made up my own R-rated words and belted them out all the way to my corporate gig.

And man, I felt 100% better in a matter of four minutes.

I shook off my funk and decided how I was going to show up for my day and it sure as hell wasn’t going to be feeling sorry for myself and wallowing in comparison hell.

Darlene and I talk about this all the time in our It’s a Brain Changer podcast.

WTA — When, then, ACTION!

When you notice you’re heading down the shitty mindset vortex, then take ACTION ASAP.

This gets you out of your head and away from that shitty mindset loop, disperses that negative energy, and empowers you to shift into a better gear with a clearer head.

Now normally I just take a quick walk when I find myself in a mindset funk but this morning’s drastic times called for drastic measures.

And now that I know what my Bose system can do, I might be hearing from Rachel Martin and David Green less ;)
