My perfect body didn't give me what I wanted

Here I am 22 years ago in a body I created by using control, perfectionism, negative motivation, willpower, comparison, and judgment.

I thought I would finally feel complete, confident, and happy when I got to this point.

Nope. I still focused on my remaining flaws. I'm sure you can see the cellulite on my hips, my pitiful itty bitty titties, and the wrinkles forming around my eyes.

"If I can just fix these remaining flaws then I'll be confident and happy."

Nope. Even after changing these I still felt insecure.

What I learned? Our relationship with ourselves has to change first.

We can get all the procedures, lose all the weight, and drink all the green juices but if we think those outward things or actions are the key to our enoughness, confidence, or happiness we've got it backward.

Society brainwashes us to think that whatever we want is on the other side of being attractive or perfect enough.

It's a lie.

Self-acceptance and self-love create enoughness.

When I changed my relationship with my body and myself everything changed.

I have more ease and joy in my body.

I look in the mirror and accept my reflection instead of judging it.

I exercise because it feels good, not as a punishment for eating the wrong thing.

I take care of my skin because I'm worthy, not because I think it will make me more lovable.

I wear make-up because I like the way I look.

I don't wear make-up because I like the way I look.

Where are you on the self-love road?

If you're open, here's a great conversation to have with yourself:

Why do I want my body to be different? What do I think I'll think and feel?

What thought do I decide to think on purpose that helps me to start feeling that way about my body NOW?

If you're stumped on a better thought, here are some to 'try on' to see how they feel:

I am learning to accept my body as it is today.

It's in my best interest to treat myself with kindness.

I am worthy.

My body doesn't define me or keep me from choosing to love and accept it.

My body responds better when I love and accept it.

I am learning to accept my reflection because it feels better to do that.

I take care of myself because I am worthy.

Summing it up:

Change your thoughts and your relationship to yourself first and then anything else you want (liposuction, face laser, dye your hair, get botox, lose weight, etc.) only adds to your (already) enoughness :)

This ONE mindset shift triples your productivity, peace, and personal power. It’s what I use and you can grab it here.
