Five positive questions to put on repeat!

I lead a fitness class three mornings a week for an awesome group of employees. This morning we did a 5, 4, 3, 2 workout. 

 

Five minutes of power skipping and running followed by five minutes of planking…then dropping it down to four minutes each, etc. 

 

Planking for extended periods of time, as you may already know, is mentally challenging so being engaged in thought-provoking conversation is mighty helpful.

 

I'm sharing the same questions I asked them to hopefully get your Monday started in the right direction too :) 

 

"What is a highlight from your weekend?” is the question I asked during our five-minute planking bout. 

 

This is a version of my favorite question to ask people which is, “what’s going right today?”

 

Did you know that focusing on what’s going right, what you enjoy, and what you’re grateful for is a huge mood and productivity booster? Tis true.

 

The four minute question was, “what do you know now that you wish you would have been able to tell your younger self and your younger self would have listened?”

 

Answers included: smile more, drink more water, sleep is important, trust and flow vs. control, and do more things out of my comfort zone.

 

And the three minute question was, “what’s on your bucket list that you commit to doing in this lifetime?”

 

Lots of travel answers! Learn to play the piano, write a book was mentioned a couple times, and I added that I will dance on stage with a band (hint, hint if you have any connections.)

 

How do you answer these three questions on this fine Monday?

Pretend you’re ten years older than you are today. What does your older self advise you to do today? Are you going to listen?
