Harnessing life friction and what to do next

Friction.

What a great and accurate word to describe times when we're stuck and frustrated, perhaps even blaming others or the circumstances themselves, for our discomfort.

Think...

difficult conversations

making important decisions

over-thinking the right place to start on a goal

judging where we are compared to where we think we should be

Friction is also something we typically want to avoid because face it, it's uncomfortable.

Yet, what would happen if instead of avoiding it we harnessed it and used it as insight?

Because that's what it really is after all.

Friction is there to tell us something! Be grateful for friction.

F then G.

Friction then Gratitude.

Got friction? What’s it’s telling you? Be grateful for the warning, clarity, or insight, and take the appropriate action.

Did you know? Your brain generalizes "friction" and associates it with pain and avoidance as a rule even when friction may be telling you something important like speak up! Go for it! Leave! Set a boundary!

Leaning into friction and being grateful for it is how you take your power back over your mind and manage it instead of allowing it to manage you.

Mind management gets you to the life you’re excited to live!
